Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 version is again back into the spotlight, as a recent report apparently provides a leak about the notification summaries, while it’s a factor that perhaps does not sit well.
Since AI-powered Notification Summaries have already been flashed last month, providing a slight idea that the feature is being prepared to arrive with the upcoming software; meanwhile, a latest report (via Android Authority) suggests that the leaked One UI 8.5 build provides more insights on the possible working of the feature.
Well, the feature will apparently make lengthy notifications easier to digest using AI, while with the courtesy of the latest report, the team has dived deeper into the leaked One UI 8.5 build and found some new features that provide direct references about the notification summaries.
Whereas, the build suggested that the notification summaries support a list of languages including French, German, English, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Thai, Simplified Chinese (Mainland China), and Vietnamese.
At the same time, the phone will generate AI notification summaries by accessing the notification history of the past 24 hours. Also, to assure users’ privacy, Samsung will perhaps be processing the entire data locally on the device, instead of sending it to the cloud-based servers. However, it’s possible that due to hardware limitations, One UI 8.5’s notification summaries may not be available on flagships below the Galaxy S23 series.
Nevertheless, certain limits are likely to be imposed with the notification summaries feature, where Samsung is likely to limit the features working in only supported languages listed above, and could work with only one language at a time. But with that said, it remains to be seen!
