Samsung is looking forward to bringing its next major software iteration, One UI 8.5, which is now anticipated to lack the Home Up module, as the report says.
Samsung has yet to finish the Android 16-based One UI 8 rollout for all the eligible Galaxy smartphones; however, most of the flagship devices have received the update widely. Meanwhile, the company has already started working on its next software version, i.e., One UI 8.5, which is supposed to be introduced with the Galaxy S26 series next year.
Several leaks and rumors have already revealed that the upcoming One UI 8.5 will bring major UI enhancements, more advanced features, AI tools, notable customization options, and convenient tweaks. Now, a new report suggests that Samsung is considering removing the Home Up module from Good Lock in One UI 8.5.
A reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a text post on X, claiming that the One UI 8.5 has many new features, but it lacks Home Up.
In case you missed it, Samsung introduced Home Up as a customization module within Good Lock, which allows users to extensively personalize their One UI home screen, including app icon layout, folder settings, and animations.
However, Samsung has yet to release an official statement on whether it is removing the Home Up module from the One UI 8.5.
