Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is now confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s chipset worldwide, which could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
To date, dozens of leaks and reports regarding the processor of the Galaxy S26 models have surfaced online. Initially, it was reported that Samsung would power the entire Galaxy S26 series with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Over time, a few leaks suggested that Samsung is working on an in-house Exynos 2600 chipset, which is expected to power the Galaxy S26 models, even including the Ultra variant. Last month, during the Q3 earnings call, Samsung confirmed that the Exynos 2600 will power the base models of the lineup at least in select markets, while the rest of the region will be equipped with the Snapdragon variant.
The most recent report claimed that the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra will be based on Exynos 2600 in most markets.
Meanwhile, a new report revealed that the company will use its latest in-house chip only for the Standard and Plus models, while the Ultra model will be equipped with a Qualcomm chipset globally.
Regarding this, an insider familiar with Samsung’s plans revealed (via ChosunBiz), “Samsung Electronics will only include the Exynos 2600 in the base model and plus model, and the Ultra model will be equipped with a Qualcomm mobile application processor (AP).” However, the exact official confirmation regarding this report has yet to be revealed; it will be interesting to see what will happen next.
