Samsung is this close to officially launching the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold in the first week of next month; meanwhile, the company has now started firmware testing of the device for the unlocked variant in the US.
The Korean tech giant has already given a sneak peek at the upcoming Galaxy Z Tri-Fold at the APEC 2025 summit. A few days back, a report claimed that the device would be launched on December 5th.
It has already been revealed that Samsung is not considering producing enough units of the device, as it has so far manufactured only 20,000 to 30,000 units of the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold. To date, the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold has already appeared on several certifications with dedicated model numbers for different countries, including the US.
According to the previous reports, it’s highly expected that the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will be sold through carriers in the USA. Meanwhile, one of our reliable colleagues, SamMobile, has now claimed that the tri-fold will be sold both through carriers and also as an unlocked model in the USA.
SamMobile confirmed that Samsung has begun firmware testing for the unlocked variant of the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold with the dedicated model number SM-F968U1.
However, Samsung has yet to confirm the official list of countries where the device will be launched. It remains to be seen whether the new claim regarding the availability of the unlocked variant in the US will come true.
