Google has long ago implemented support for certain EVs on Android Auto, but what about finding their charging stations on a specific route? Guess what! Google Maps on Android Auto is supposed to be making this hustle easier, says the report.
Well, Google Maps on Android Auto is perhaps working on making it a lot easier to look for an EV charging station when searching for a charging station on a specific route.
This perhaps appears to be changing, as the previous behavior is a hassle, where to filter the search for charging stations in Google Maps, Android Auto owners need to first turn on their EV settings, and then, after reaching Google Maps, users find the option of charging stations.
Essentially, according to a fresh report from Android Authority, which suggests that Android Auto owners will now be able to find charging stations within a specific route on Google Maps, while not just, Google Maps is further adding the capability to filter charging stations when searching for stations, depending on the charging speed.
At the same time, the report further mentioned that they have noticed a few impressive changes within the latest Android Auto 15.7 beta. Google appears to be adding an ability to search charging station filters directly by clicking on the Settings icon in Google Maps on Android Auto. Alongside tapping on EV map filters, users will get a few filter options to choose from:
- Quick Charge – 50kW or higher
- Slow Charge – up to 49kW
- And Customize (where you can apply a filter of your choice, including 10 to 49kW, 50 to 149kW, 150 to 349kW, 350kW, up to 9kW, and faster)
Accompanied by the charging speed filter, a new EV payment filter option, which allows Android Auto owners to filter charging stations on the basis of accepted payment methods. It is important to note that the type of payment methods available will vary depending on which country users reside. In the US specifically, Android Auto owners will have payment methods such as Google Pay and more.
