Samsung’s vast Galaxy ecosystem is curiously waiting for the upcoming OS, the One UI 8.5, which has continuously been the talk of the town! Since a host of leaks have already revealed a vision of what could be expected with the latest version, a fresh leak suggests that One UI 8.5 is supposed to bring a few additional features for Galaxy’s Now Bar.
Now Bar, a significant dynamic notification system, debuted with the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7 on board, which is streamlined to offer all the key notifications or updates about any essential news, music playback, and more right on the phone’s lock screen without unlocking the device to view the entire details.
Indeed, Samsung has upgraded the functionality of Now Bar, making it even better and smarter with One UI 8. Now, according to a fresh post shared by the tipster, Tarun Vats, on X, Samsung seems to be looking forward to adding a couple of more Live activities or functions to the Galaxy’s Now Bar with the upcoming One UI 8.5 version.
Specifically, the tipster states that One UI 8.5’s Now Bar supports even more apps, including Commute from Google and Audio Broadcast.
Where the former lets users view all the essential commute info offered by Google Maps, with details such as traffic info, commute time, and more, while the latter allows users to significantly share audio with others, and other people can listen to an audio broadcast for people with hearing aids, in particular.
Well, the additional categories, Commute from Google and Audio Broadcast, now join other existing categories such as health tracking, sports scores, stock updates, media playback, clock, and much more. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Samsung brings it to the official version.
