Samsung teases its strategy of a paid subscription for its Galaxy AI suite

Samsung has now clearly hinted that its AI suite, called Galaxy AI, will no longer be truly free, as the features will soon be subject to different terms and may be subject to fees.

The Korean tech giant initially introduced the Galaxy AI suite back in 2024 with the Galaxy S24 series. Over time, with the latest One UI updates, the company expanded the availability to more Galaxy devices according to their capacity to adopt the feature. As of now, almost all the Galaxy smartphones have Galaxy AI.

When the company introduced the Galaxy AI, it claimed that the suite of features would be free until 2025; however, it hasn’t confirmed exactly what will happen next after 2025. Meanwhile, Samsung has now tipped that the AI features will no longer be free.

However, not all the Galaxy AI features will be paid for, as the company stated that “Samsung enhanced AI features and third-party AI features may have separate terms and may incur fees.” It remains unclear exactly what these advanced features will include.

The Korean tech giant also didn’t mention whether this is a bundled subscription service for all the paid features. It seems that these could be more advanced and powerful tools, probably cloud-based.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed when this subscription will be implemented, but it’s expected that it could come into introduce initially with the Galaxy S26 series next year. It will be interesting to see what will happen next.
