Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy Z TriFold offers many notable multi-form factors, but despite that, it still lacks convenient Flex Mode support.
After a long teasing phase, Samsung launched its first multi-folding Galaxy Z TriFold device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with 16GB RAM and 512GB & 1TB internal storage, and running Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.
The company will release the device for sale on December 12, initially in Korea. Later, it will expand availability in the US market in the first quarter of 2026, with more details to be shared later. It will be available in different markets, including China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE.
Samsung offered various AI features, including Photo Assist, Generative Edit, Live Translate, and the full Galaxy AI suite to the Galaxy Z TriFold. Meanwhile, now a YouTuber, SuperSaf, has gone hands-on with the Galaxy Z TriFold, revealing the device lacks a convenient feature called Flex Mode.
According to the YouTuber, the Galaxy Z TriFold is not compatible with the Flex Mode. In case you missed it, the Flex Mode is a feature that allows you to partially fold a Galaxy Z Flip or Fold device to watch videos hands-free, take photos by placing it on a surface, or turn the device into a mini laptop for calls and typing.
However, the company is still working on a much more complex structure here, and the Galaxy Z TriFold does not support Flex mode because the dual in-folding hinges may have made the feature difficult to implement.
