Samsung finally ended the latest Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch 5 series, and now it looks like the company is already expanding the update for even more users in other countries.
Well, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro models were part of Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch beta program, and a week ago, the company concluded the series of two beta builds and has started rolling out the stable One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 5 series.
However, the stable update was only limited to South Korea, and now, Samsung is looking forward to the expansion of the stable rollout in more countries, and thus, the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro owners in the US (on Verizon) have started receiving a new software update that brings the latest Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch and its exciting features for the smartwatches.
At the same time, the new watch software for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro has been identified with the R905USQU1DYK4 (40mm) / R915USQU1DYK4 (44mm) and R925USQU1DYK4 (45mm) version numbers.
Specifically, the current One UI 8 Watch software significantly brought about a handful of features, including the ability to create custom tiles of weather, calendar events, and reminders, new and more improved watch faces such as Sporty Classic, Heritage Classic, and more, which are also accustomed to low light mode for easier viewing in the dark. Other than that, the update also brings the Mindfulness feature for mood tracking and breathing exercises, and stress reduction.
However, it remains to be seen whether Samsung wishes to provide the latest Samsung Health features, including the Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, Antioxidant Index, and Running Coach, to even more older generation Galaxy Watches, which are currently only exclusive to newer watches such as the Galaxy Watch 8 series, Watch 7, and Watch Ultra models.
