One UI 8 Watch is now available for the Galaxy Watch FE

Samsung launched the Fan Edition model of its smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch FE, in June 2024; meanwhile, the watch units have started receiving a new software update that brings up the latest One UI 8 Watch version alongside its exciting features.

Well, the company has just ended the long-running One UI 8 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, completing the beta channel entirely. Now, it looks like Samsung is looking towards expanding the stable build to even more older generation Galaxy Watches, and this time, it’s turn for the Galaxy Watch FE.

Basically, Samsung brought up a new software update, the Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch FE models, which is identified with the R861XXU1CYK6 version number, and is currently available in South Korea. Notably, the update is expected to expand in even more countries over the coming weeks.

At the same time, the update packs a handful of key features that are powered by both Wear OS 6 and One UI 8 Watch. It brings upgraded health management with the new Bedtime Guidance and Mindfulness features, lets users stay connected with quick gesture response to the notifications, improved notification screen, smarter settings, and mark important reminders.

Accompanied by these features, the update also brings a personalized user experience with newer watch faces, watch face recommendations, the ability to create your own tile, customize the apps screen, and display the desired calendars on the Galaxy Watch.

This not only helps in maintaining a healthier lifestyle but also focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality by integrating the October 2025 security patch to provide a secure and efficient user experience.
