Samsung’s Galaxy Ring 2 launch could face an unusual delay

Samsung now appears to be facing a delay in the Galaxy Ring 2 launch from its expected launch timeline, as oura accused the firm of using its patented technology without permission, which could be the reason for the unusual delay.

Last year, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Ring at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in July 2024; however, the release was staggered, with availability expanding to different regions after the initial launch.

Currently, the company is looking forward to launching its next-generation Galaxy S26 series in 2026. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Ring fans are also waiting for the Galaxy Ring 2 launch, and expect that the company will introduce it alongside the Galaxy S26 series; however, it’s not the case anymore, since a new report suggests a delay.

A new report revealed that Samsung could face a delay in the Galaxy Ring 2 launch, as Oura has filed a complaint against Samsung for using its patented technology without its permission. This legal issue with Oura could take a long time for Samsung to deal with.

The report also mentioned that another reason behind the delay is that the company is considering taking more time to refine the next-generation Galaxy Ring 2 and integrate it with better and more advanced tracking capabilities.
