One UI 8.5 brings dynamic colors to the lock screen PIN interface

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 brings several upgrades to enhance the overall UI, including one of the notable improvements is dynamic colors to the lock screen PIN interface.

Earlier this week, Samsung released the Android 16-based One UI 8.5 beta update in selected regions, including the US, UK, Korea, and Germany, currently for the Galaxy S25 series. It’s expected that by the end of this month, the company will expand the update to more eligible countries.

With the latest One UI 8.5 beta update, Samsung offered multiple notable customization options, new features, tweaks, and improvements. Meanwhile, a tipster, SMASithick, on X shared a post revealing that the One UI 8.5 brings a notable change in the numeric keypad that appears for the entry of PIN, now displays colorful buttons.

The dynamic colors of the lock screen PIN interface will be derived from the user’s wallpaper. However, the blur is still not removed, as it helps to separate the keys from the background. Samsung also designed this new color engine in a way that covers the Emergency call button at the bottom. This new color change offers a clearer and visually pleasing appearance to the lock screen.

However, it’s the early stage, so it will be interesting to see whether the stable version will enhance this feature further.
