Samsung is reaching towards even more Galaxy devices in order to deliver the latest December 2025 security update to all the eligible models. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 units are getting the update now.
Previously, Samsung rolled out the December 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 devices, and steadily, the ongoing update is reaching out to Samsung’s 5th generation folding phones, which is currently available in South Korea and will be expanded in the coming weeks.
Specifically, the December 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 has been identified with the F946NKSS5FYL2 and F731NKSS5FYL2 version numbers, respectively, which is, however, a minor one that is apparently a significant part of Samsung’s monthly security update and doesn’t bring any major features and changes.
Rather, the update just packs a handful of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities and other issues, and focuses on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and efficiency to provide a secure user experience to the users, while also protecting the device against external threats.
In addition to that, the latest update further adds stability and reliability to the entire system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations that eventually leads to a smoother, stable, and optimized experience for the users.
Well, so far, Samsung has provided the December update for a handful of Galaxy phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, alongside other folding phones as well, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, and even Galaxy Z Fold 7, as well as Flip 7, have already joined the list.
