Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is rumored to be thinner than its predecessor

Samsung is supposed to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in early Q3 2026, which is now expected to have a thinner build and better display compared to its predecessor.

The Korean tech giant has a ritual to launch the latest generation foldable lineup each year: for instance, this year it launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7. Following the same ritual, it will introduce its eighth-generation foldable phones, including Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, at the Galaxy Unpacked event sometime in early Q3 2026.

Samsung hasn’t revealed any official details of the upcoming foldable phones yet. Meanwhile, a tipster on X revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be considerably thinner than its predecessor Galaxy Z Flip 7.

However, the tipster hasn’t mentioned any specific measurement of the device, but it seems that the claim is appreciable because if Samsung were to make major improvements to next year’s flip phones, a thinner profile will definitely be on the list. It’s expected that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be 10% thinner and lighter than its previous flip models.

According to previous reports, this time Samsung is shifting its focus mostly to Galaxy Z Flip 8, aiming to increase its sales by 10%, and it could use the Snapdragon 8s Elite Gen 5 chipset initially for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
