One UI 8.5 Adds Missed Calls Support to the Now Bar

Samsung users have grown accustomed to a steady flow of software updates that bring real polish to the overall experience. One UI remains a key reason many people stick with Galaxy devices, and the company isn’t slowing down.

With One UI 8.5 on the horizon, the Now Bar is set to gain another practical layer: missed call notifications directly on the lock screen.

Now Bar debuted with One UI 7 as a widget-style tool that surfaces live information and shortcuts without unlocking your phone. Over time, Samsung has quietly added more functionality, making it a genuinely useful part of the interface rather than just visual flair.

According to leaker Tarun Vats, the upcoming version will integrate call log support. That means any missed calls will show up right there, no digging required. It’s a small change, but for people who rely on their phone for work or time-sensitive communication, it removes friction.

What remains unclear is device eligibility. Samsung may roll this out across all phones receiving One UI 8.5, or it could debut exclusively on the Galaxy S26 series before trickling down to older flagships. The company has done both in the past, so either path is possible.

The S26 lineup is reportedly launching on February 25, which means official confirmation isn’t far off. Until then, it’s another reminder that Samsung’s real strength isn’t just hardware specs but the continued refinement of software features that actually improve how people use their phones day to day.
