If you bought a Galaxy S26 hoping to finally send files to your iPhone-using friends without the usual headache, you are going to have to wait a little longer.
AirDrop support via Quick Share is not live on the Galaxy S26 series. Apple devices in “Everyone” mode do not show up as share targets, and Galaxy S26 phones do not appear on the iPhone end either. That is the current reality, regardless of what you may have seen circulating online.
The confusion stems from a leaked screenshot posted by leaker @chunvn8888 showing AirDrop support inside One UI 8.5. It looked convincing, and honestly, the timing made sense. Samsung’s flagship launch seemed like the logical moment to expand something Google had already proven worked well on Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 devices.
But the leaker later confirmed to 9to5Google that the screenshot came from an early test build, not production software. It surfaced just a day before Samsung’s launch event, which explains why it spread so fast.
So where does that leave things? Cautiously optimistic. The feature exists in some form internally, which means it is not a question of if but when. The earliest realistic window is probably a few weeks out, assuming Samsung pushes it through a software update.
The bigger caveat is Samsung’s update track record. Their rollouts have been inconsistent lately, so “a few weeks” could easily stretch further. Google set the bar here. Now Samsung just needs to actually clear it.
