Samsung has a habit of announcing AI features with its latest flagship and then quietly rolling them out to older hardware a few months later. That pattern is repeating with One UI 8.5, which is bringing four Galaxy S26 AI features to a wider range of Galaxy devices.
Here is what is actually being added
Advanced Audio Eraser originally only worked on videos you had already recorded. The updated version works in real time, reducing background noise while you watch content on Instagram, Netflix, YouTube, and other apps. The noise reduction level is adjustable directly from the Quick Panel.
Call Screening uses on-device AI to handle incoming calls when you are unavailable. The assistant answers, asks the caller for their name and reason for calling, then saves a transcription and recording for you to review at your own pace.
Creative Studio is a new standalone app for designing stickers, wallpapers, invitation cards, profile cards, and drawings. You can work freehand, use text prompts, or combine both approaches.
Photo Assist has been meaningfully upgraded. You can now edit images using plain text instructions and import people or objects from entirely separate photos, with control over how those elements are merged.
These features are arriving through the One UI 8.5 beta program, with the following devices confirmed so far:
- Galaxy S25 series
- Galaxy S24 series
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
Whether devices like the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, or Z Flip 5 make the cut is still unclear. Samsung has not made any official statement about extending support further back, but given the company’s seven-year update commitment starting with the S24, it would not be surprising to see at least some of those older flagships included eventually.
