Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Locks October 11 Premiere

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is Toei Animation’s “ENHANCED” remake of the first Dragon Ball Super TV arc. It premieres in Japan on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 11:15 p.m. JST on Fuji TV and affiliates.

The date landed on September 2, 2026 with a new Super Surge trailer and key visual. The project was first announced January 25, 2026 at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, the franchise’s 40th-anniversary event.

This is not a brand-new saga from scratch. It is a rebuilt version of the story that began in Battle of Gods and the 2015 Super anime: Beerus wakes, hunts the Super Saiyan God rumor, and Goku has to answer before Earth is erased.

What “enhanced” actually means

Producer Akio Iyoku has said work started years ago. Official materials list:

  • New and redrawn cuts
  • Rebuilt story structure, closer to Akira Toriyama’s intent
  • Full re-render of footage
  • New score, effects, and re-recorded dialogue
  • Heavier, more immersive fight scenes

Tadayoshi Yamamuro is animation character designer and general animation director. Matsuto Seya handles composition and direction arrangement. Music is by Norihito Sumitomo. Kōichi Yamadera returns as Beerus. Masako Nozawa remains Goku.

Trailers now show more than the first fight. Footage and the Super Surge visual tease Frieza, Hit, and Universe 6 — so the run is expected to cover Battle of Gods, Resurrection ‘F’, and the Universe 6 tournament, not only Beerus vs Goku. Episode count is not official; some reports guess a tighter ~20-episode season instead of the original bloated early Super stretch.

A separate new series, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, was announced at the same January event and is slated after this remake.

Theme songs and where to watch

  • Opening: “ONOGAMI” — MEGATERA・ZERO
  • Ending: “Kan Peki No Peki” — VK Blanka

Japan TV: Fuji TV, Oct 11, 11:15 p.m. JST.
Streaming (reported): Prime Video and U-NEXT as early as Oct 12, 12:15 a.m. JST; other platforms later in the week. A wide international licensor (Crunchyroll is widely expected, not fully confirmed in every territory) has not been locked in every market.

New York Comic Con first look

Episode 1 gets a world-premiere screening at NYCC 2026 on Thursday, October 8, 12:00–12:45 p.m., Empire Stage, Javits Center. Host: Monica Rial (Bulma). Guests: Jason Douglas (Beerus) and Ian Sinclair (Whis).

The story in one beat

Years after Majin Buu, Earth is quiet. Beerus, God of Destruction of Universe 7, wakes from a long sleep, hears of a Saiyan who beat Frieza, and arrives on Earth. Goku and the others have to find Super Saiyan God — or watch the planet go.

New and redrawn animation, reconstructed story closer to Toriyama, re-recorded audio, and tighter battles — Toei’s “ENHANCED edition,” not a simple HD upscale.
