Death Stranding Isolations Anime Announced for Disney+ in 2027 With First Teaser

Kojima Productions has officially announced Death Stranding Isolations, a new anime series coming exclusively to Disney+ in 2027. The studio revealed the project during its 10th anniversary event in Tokyo, titled BEYOND THE STRAND: The Odyssey of Creation and Endeavor, alongside the release of its first teaser trailer.

Unlike the video games, the upcoming animated series will feature an entirely original story and new characters rather than following Sam Porter Bridges and his familiar companions. The project will use traditional hand-drawn 2D animation, with E&H Production handling the animation.

The announcement gives fans another way to experience Hideo Kojima’s distinctive science-fiction universe, expanding the franchise beyond video games.

The first teaser introduces a mysterious blonde girl who wakes from sleep after experiencing disturbing dreams of tar consuming her. This imagery reflects the unsettling atmosphere associated with the Death Stranding universe.

The story also follows a girl who has deliberately isolated herself from the world. Her life begins to change after unexpected encounters push her into circumstances she never anticipated.

Death Stranding Isolations is scheduled to premiere in 2027, with Disney+ serving as its exclusive streaming platform or through other Disney services, depending on availability.
