EA Brings Back 25 Classic PC Games as Road Rash 30th Anniversary Edition Launches

Electronic Arts has brought back 25 classic PC games from the 1990s, including the iconic Road Rash, which has returned with a new 30th Anniversary Edition. Released on November 5, 2026, the restored collection is now available through Steam, GOG, and the EA App, giving players an opportunity to revisit some of the publisher’s most memorable titles.

The updated Road Rash release brings back the original 1996 motorcycle racing game with its licensed soundtrack, featuring artists such as Soundgarden, Monster Magnet, and Therapy. The Anniversary Edition also includes restored cinematic scenes, improved performance, native controller support, windowed mode, and cloud saves.

Road Rash 30th Anniversary Edition Features

The Road Rash 30th Anniversary Edition focuses on preserving the original experience while making it more accessible on modern PCs.

Unlike a remake or a new entry, this release restores the classic game with its original identity and music intact.

The updated version includes:

• Original licensed soundtrack.
• Restored cinematic scenes.
• Improved performance for modern PCs.
• Native controller support.
• Windowed mode.
• Cloud save functionality.

The restoration is part of EA’s wider effort to bring its classic PC library back to modern platforms.

How EA Restored 25 Classic PC Games

According to EA, the restoration project began in March 2022 after the company discovered an old physical media vault containing archival footage and master recordings.

The recovered material helped the publisher restore more than 1,500 cinematic scenes across seven Anniversary Editions.

Alongside Road Rash, the collection includes anniversary releases from the Wing Commander franchise, including Wing Commander II, III, IV, Wing Commander Prophecy, and Privateer 2: The Darkening.

The remaining collection features classic titles from Ultima, Crusader, and other franchises, including Theme Hospital.

EA Classic Games Collection: Pricing and Availability

All 25 games launched on November 5 and are available through Steam, GOG, and the EA App.

The pricing is divided into two categories:

• Seven Anniversary Editions: $9.99 each.
• Remaining 18 classic games: $4.99 each.

Special discounted prices on Steam and GOG are available until November 19, 2026.

There is also good news for existing players. Those who already own applicable digital Wing Commander games on GOG or the EA App will automatically receive their corresponding Anniversary Edition upgrades for free.
