Galaxy S10 Series Removed From Samsungs Monthly Update Program:
Samsung announced its 4-year Software Support Policy in 2022 Feb. Since then, it has been almost three and a half years since the launch of the S10 series, which launched in Jan 2019. Samsung has already provided 3 years of major OS and Ui updates to the Galaxy S10 series.
The Galaxy S10 series came onboard with Android 9-based OneUI 1.1. and reached its hardware/software policy distribution limits by getting upgraded to major Android 12-based One UI 4.0, i.e. three major upgrades of OS & four for OneUI.
OneUI 4.1 update, which brought the Galaxy S22-inspired Camera features to the Galaxy S10 lineup, was the last month these devices saw updates and probably have to settle with these only as these have been shifted to Quarterly Updates at Samsung’s official update cycle chart for different models.
Samsung Galaxy S10 series devices did not see the monthly April 2022 security patch until now, which could get skipped and directly land on the Quarterly Updates.
Reason: Why Galaxy S10 Series Removed From Monthly Update Program
That leaves us with all the Galaxy S10 series devices, namely Galaxy S10+, S10, S10E & S10 5G, shifted to Quarterly updates except for the Galaxy S10 Lite, which is still listed in the monthly update cycle of the Samsung update bulletin.
Samsung also ended the latest software support or monthly updates for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones, and likely other series will also follow.
To be fair, it’s alright cause Samsung released updates every month for these devices until recently, but it’sit’s now time to shift more attention to the latest smartphones.
