Industry Anticipations :

In recent reports, Samsung’s top models made up just 22% of its total sales.

While Apple took 62% of the premium market in Q1 2022 via sales in April 2022, with the Apple models in the top 10 accounting for 89% of its total sales for the month, due to iPhone 13,iPhone 13 Pro Max,iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 12 grabbing the top 4 spots in terms of market sales shares.

Although, The sales volume for Foldable grew 184% YoY in the premium segment, acquiring 3% of the total sales volume in the premium segment.

This is why Industry analysts predict that Samsung is paying attention to the foldable smartphones market to catch up with the iPhone as it has lagged behind the US phone maker.

Samsung will lower its sales target of the Galaxy A and the Galaxy S series and focus on selling new foldable phones to be released in August,”

“Inflation has a more negative impact on the sales of low-priced phones than on high-priced ones.”

He further added,

“In May, the proportion of phones costing more than $600 was the same as the previous month at 19 percent, but low-priced phones worth less than $100 accounted for 26 percent, similar to the lowest level of those products last year. This is disadvantageous for Samsung, which lags behind Apple in the premium phone market.”

Apple vs. Samsung: Upcoming devices

According to foreign media outlets, Apple is also expected to announce the iPhone 14 series on September 13.

  • The new iPhone may come in four variants with different colors.
  • Among the versions, some models, which will likely be the most expensive, are said to have no notch, the part located at the top of the screen that houses some of the sensors.

However, Industry watchers believe the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip will be more avant-garde than previous models.

As For Galaxy Z Fold,

  • The expected internal display is a 7.6″ QXGA+ AMOLED having a refresh rate of 120Hz.
  • With the external one constituting a 6.2″ size and an HD+ resolution, i.e., making it wide and short, resulting in a 6:5 aspect ratio from 6:2:5.With adjusting the outer screen aspect ratio 23:9 from 24.5:9.

As the company has captured the natures of young consumers with its sleek design, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is expected to be similar to its predecessor but will feature a larger battery capacity and thinner hinge.

This will be an epic duel to witness, especially after the current Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak called out Samsung and implied that the Smartphones from Samsung were just a “Poor Copy” of the iPhones.
