Compared to previous Android versions, Google released an early developer preview of Android 13 earlier this year, indicating that the public release of the new Android version will also take place earlier than usual.

Some OEMs expected Google to launch the public version of Android 13 in August, but it currently seems unlikely.

One UI 5.0 Might Delay: Reason

This month, Google already released the Android 13 security bulletin, and the release notes suggest that the new Android version will launch with the September 2022 security patch.

This could lead Samsung to postpone the release of its Android One UI 5.0 interface based on Android 13.

It’s currently unclear when Samsung plans to launch the One UI 5.0 beta, however it could happen soon, as the company recently updated its smartphone launcher ahead of the new One UI.

Previously it was expected that One UI 5.0 would be released by October, but now it seems more reasonable to expect that Galaxy devices eligible for Android 13 will receive the update by November this year.

Samsung is gearing up for the August 10 Unpacked event during which it will unveil its upcoming foldable smartphones.
