T-Mobile Galaxy S10 gets December 2022 security firmware with bug fixes in the US

Samsung is now rolling out the December 2022 security update for its Galaxy S10 series which includes three models Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e. However, these devices have already received the update on Verizon carrier, but still, Samsung is releasing the new security update for T-Mobile users.

Galaxy S10 receives December 2022 patch on T-Mobile

As of now, the Korean giant is serving the December 2022 security in the US. Currently, the update is rolling out on T-Mobile’s network, which means the locked variant of the devices affiliated with T-Mobile is receiving the new security update. The firmware version numbers can identify the update, G973USQS8IVL1, G975USQS8IVL1, and G970USQS8IVL1 for Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e, respectively.

The December 2022 security update includes several bug fixes which are related to the device performance and stability, and according to the information, the update resolves 90+ security vulnerabilities. Google has included 80 patches which are available for all android phones, while Samsung has also added 13 more patches which are exclusively available for Galaxy devices.

Reminder: Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 are no longer eligible for Android 13

According to Samsung’s official documentation, the Galaxy S10 series devices are listed under Quarterly updates, so these devices are eligible for four security updates each year. As the Galaxy S10 device was launched in 2019 and came with Android 9(pie), it is no longer eligible for any further Android updates. The device is limited to Android 12, which was received in February last year. However, the device is still eligible for some more security updates in the future.
