Galaxy S22 gets January 2023 security update in Europe

Samsung has now expanded the January 2023 security patch update for the Galaxy S22 devices. Initially, the update was available in the US, and now turn to European users. It is also worth noticing that the has received the stable Android 13 in the very initial stage, but for security updates, Samsung is unpredictable; for example, the January 2023 update was initially available for the Galaxy Note 10 series and expanded to other flagships and mid-rangers as well.

The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra devices are receiving the Android January 2023 security patch in Europe and started with Germany. However, it has already rolled out in the US for Verizon, T-Mobile, and Unlocked users. The update for German users can identify with firmware version numbers S901BXXS2BWA2, S906BXXS2BWA2, and S908BXXS2BWA2, respectively.

The January 2023 security patch fixes several bugs

It is the latest security update that Google introduced for Android smartphones. The update includes several patches which fix a lot of system vulnerabilities. There are 52 patches added by Google marked as High priority; along with these, Samsung has also included 20 other patches specially designed for its Galaxy devices.

Moreover, the update is a kind of device maintenance. It brings several improvements that ultimately enhance the performance and stability of the device. So it is beneficial to update the device as soon as possible to introduce the update.

How to install

If you are using the Galaxy S22 device in Germany, you can easily install the January 2023 update by the following steps  

  • Go to the device settings
  • Then click on the software updates button
  • Now tap on download and install 
  • wait until the search is finished,
  • If it shows the security update is available, tap on the install button, 
  • It will start downloading and get installed automatically.
