Samsung sending January 2023 security update for Galaxy S20 in Europe

Samsung is expanding the January 2023 security update for the Galaxy S20 devices, while Samsung has updated earlier two S series devices, including Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series devices, in different regions. The Korean giant has also served the Android 13 update to these devices Globally.

As of now, the Galaxy S20 series devices have received an update in several European countries. However, the update will soon be available in other regions. The LTE variant of the Galaxy S20 device has received the January 2022 security update with version numbers G980FXXSFGWA7 and G985FXXSFGWA7 for Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+, respectively. The Galaxy S20 Ultra has version number G988BXXSFGWA7.

The January 2023 update is a regular monthly update which is provided by Google for Android devices. The update includes several types of patches which fix the security vulnerabilities issues. In the case of Galaxy devices, Samsung is also pushing some patches which resolve the issues regarding the functioning of the device.

According to the Samsung documentation, Google has added 52 patches that address the issues regarding the Android operating system. The Korean giant has also included 20 patches targeting the Galaxy devices’ vulnerabilities.
