Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip has seen its share of updates since it was released a few years ago. But, one version of the device that hasn’t seen many is the carrier-locked version. That all changed this week when Samsung started rolling out a new security update for the device in the US. The update brings the January 2023 security patch and fixes some bugs and performance.

The carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip is getting the January 2023 security update in the United States. The update brings a number of security improvements and bug fixes to over fifty issues related to security. The update is currently rolling out to Sprint users in the United States and should be available for all devices within the next few days.

The January 2023 security patch for Galaxy Z Flip carrier-locked by Sprint in the US bumps the phone’s firmware version to F700USQS5HWA1.

How to install

The Galaxy Z Flip users can easily update their device to latest security patch by following these steps

  • Go to the device settings
  • Then click on the software updates button
  • Now tap on download and install 
  • wait until the search is finished,
  • If it shows the new update is available, tap on the install button, 
  • It will start downloading and get installed automatically.
