T-Mobile hacked and 37 million customer’s personal data stole in the US

With the pace at which technology is developing, the risk of digital threats and data theft is also increasing. Recently, a report related to these threats came to the fore. Notably, T-Mobile, a mobile communication subsidiary, revealed in a financial filing on Tuesday that a hacker has access to users’ personal data, which is a menace to 32 million customers. As per the reports, the personal data which is the afflict of this data theft includes the customer’s Name, Billing Address, Phone Number, Date of Birth, E-Mail, T-Mobile account number, and others. Informatively, this threat has been stealing data since November 25th, 2022, as the company revealed. However, this threat was detected after one and a quarter months, on January 5th, 2023.

the hacker didn’t make its way through the company’s system but restored to the API. Let us tell you that it is not the first time when T-Mobile’s data has been hacked, but it has happened for the eighth time since 2018, of which the most recent case was from the year 2022.

In 2022’s case, Lapsus$, a group of hackers broke into the company’s internal tools, with which they carry out the SIM swaps. Now this time, they have got the personal info. In that manner, the company wrote, “Our investigation is still ongoing, but the malicious activity appears to be fully contained at this time, and there is currently no evidence that the bad actor was able to breach or compromise our systems or our network.”
