Samsung Galaxy S20 LTE/5G gets February 2023 security update in Latin America

Samsung is rapidly distributing new updates for its Galaxy devices. Currently, the company is serving the new security update in the form of a February 2023 Android security patch; the update is dedicated to improving device security.

According to Samsung’s security SMR, the February 2023 security update brings several patches that fix a lot of vulnerabilities and exposures; it is worth noticing that Samsung has also added some extra patches that exclusively target the loopholes of Galaxy devices.

If we look at the details of the latest security patch, it includes 48 patches that Google adds that target Android OS security; on the other hand, Samsung has also packed 7 more patches that fix the vulnerabilities of Galaxy devices. The update rolling out

in Latin American countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay.

Apart from these, the update doesn’t bring any new features; users who own Galaxy S20 devices can identify the latest update by the firmware version number G980FXXSFGWAD and G985FXXSFGWAD for Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+, while the 5G variant of the devices is getting the same update with version number G981BXXSFGWAD, G986BXXSFGWAD, and G988BXXSFGWAD for Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20+ 5G and Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, respectively.
