Samsung Galaxy S24: Chipset configuration leaked

Samsung’s Galaxy S series always launches with advancements and utilities in its software and hardware. We have already seen this year’s big launch of the Galaxy S23 flagship, which has further increased users’ expectations and curiosity about the Galaxy S flagship. Now every Galaxy admirer is seeing through the next year’s Galaxy S24 flagship series. We have recently found a clue regarding it, so let’s take a look at it.

Firstly, let us inform you the South Korean firm always uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series chipsets. The latest Galaxy S23 series has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in it, and the future Galaxy S24 flagship will also use its successor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. This new chipset hasn’t been launched yet, but one thing is clear it will surely be more power efficient and will deliver outstanding performance. 

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: Configuration 

Recently, the well-known tipster KubaWojciechowski has leaked the configuration of this aforementioned next-gen Snapdragon chipset. As per the tipster, this new chipset which is codenamed Lanai or Pineapple, has the model number SM8650. It will contain the Adreno 750 GPU in it, which is clocked at 770MHz with a configuration of 2+3+2+1 next-gen ARM CPU cores. Now let’s take a look at those CPU cores.

As per the information, this new SoC will have one Cortex-X series Gold+ core, two Cortex-A7xx Titanium cores, two Cortex-A5xx Silver cores, and three Cortex-A7xx Gold cores. The processor will be manufactured by TSMC’s improved 4nm technology or the latest 3nm process technology. It will not support 32-bit Android apps, which means developers should update their apps to a 64-bit architecture. 

Informatively, this upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will launch will the support of Android 14 and Linux Kernel version 6.1. Unfortunately, the clock speed of this new chipset of its cores is yet to be known as we didn’t get any clue regarding them. There is one thing that is important besides the Galaxy S24 series devices, this same chipset will power the future Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 devices too.
