Samsung is one of the most punctual companies in software updates, and it is the only company which provides new updates to its devices after Google. Sometimes it also overtakes Google when it comes to security updates and distributes them to eligible devices as soon as possible. At present, the Korean giant is expanding the March 2023 security update.

Now the company is focussing on the Canadian market and rolling out the March 2023 security patch for some Galaxy devices, including Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy S21 series devices; however, these devices have already received the same update in several other markets. Let’s discuss these devices with the new update.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices were launched back in 2021. These are the third-generation devices of the respective series. Samsung has packed both devices with Android 11, and previously the company has kept devices in the policy of three Android updates, but with the latest policy announcement, which was published in February last year, the Korean tech giant has included both of the devices and promised to give Android update support upto 4 new versions.

The new firmware update containing March 2023 is now reaching the Canadian units of Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra; users can easily identify the update by its firmware version numbers G991WVLS5EWC1, G996WVLS5EWC1 and G998WVLS5EWC1 respectively. The Galaxy S21 was the flagship device of the year 2021. It featured high-end camera specifications and was powered by Exynos 2100. Samsung has promised to give at least three major updates and five-year security support, so the device is eligible for receiving Android updates up to Android 14.

Moreover, the March 2023 security update includes several fixes that resolve security issues, and it also comes with some improvements that enhance the overall performance and stability of the device, so it is highly recommended to install it whenever the update is available on your device.
