Carrier-locked Galaxy S10 receives its final update in the US

The Galaxy S10 series launched in the year 2019 and are promised to receive four years of security patches. As for OS, all three of them were launched with Android 9 (Pie) and already received their final Android 12 and One UI 4.1 updates, and now they have got the final security update too.

The March 2023 update is one month older than the security update. The update is rolling out for Galaxy S10. The device is currently receiving an update in the US on the locked variant. Users who own Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e can identify the update by the firmware version numbers G973USQS8IWC1, G975USQS8IWC1 and G970USQS8IWC1 respectively.

The latest update is in the form of a monthly security update which brings security fixes so it can enhance the overall security of the device. For information, it includes different patches which are added by Google and Samsung both. Google One’s patch addresses the security of devices of Android OS, while Samsung brought extra that resolves the issues of Galaxy devices.

Currently, the Galaxy S10 series devices are receiving the update on the Sprint network on carrier locked variant. Being a four years older device, it is no longer eligible for any major update. But further security updates may include some new enhancements for the device, so if you update your device, then it might get some extra features.

Samsung ends software support for Galaxy S10 Series

All three devices, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, and Galaxy S10e, were launched back in 2019 and are eligible for four years of a security patch; this is the last year for this device to get these patches.
