Verizon US locked Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Note 20 get April 2023 software update with new features

Verizon has rolled out a new security update for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S22 devices. The update includes the April 2023 security patch. It is one of the usual updates which comes with bug fixes that enhance the overall security of Galaxy devices.

Additionally, the update includes some improvements for the existing function of devices, which provides enhancements for the built-in features as well as it also increases the stability of functions by further optimizations.

April 2023 security update bring Galaxy S23 exclusive feature for these Galaxy devices

In the past few days, Samsung has distributed the April 2023 security update for many Flagship devices, the update not only enhances the security update but it has also added a new feature called Image Clipper; this feature was initially only available for the Galaxy S23. Most of the new to older flagship devices have received the feature through the new security update. So it is possible that the April 2023 security update will give the functionality of this feature to the Verizon locked variant of Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Note 20 devices as well. However, it is not sure till now because the official changelog of the update on the Verizon page doesn’t specify it.

The April 2023 update for (Verizon-locked) the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with the version number S901USQU2CWCE, S906USQU2CWCE, and S908USQU2CWCE, respectively. 

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra is getting the same update with these firmware version numbers .N981USQU4HWD3 and N986USQU4HWD3, respectively. The update could be available on more carriers in the coming days. While unlocked variants of these 

How to Install April 2023 security update on Your Galaxy Device

Users who own the carrier-locked variant of Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Note 20 series devices can easily update their device by following these steps:

  1. Go to the system settings.
  2. Tap on the software update and tap the Download and Install option; now, wait until the search is finished.
  3. If it shows a new update available, then just tap on the download now button.
