Carrier-locked Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 getting May 2023 update in the USA

Samsung is constantly rolling out new updates for the remaining high-end devices which are available in different countries; it is worth noticing that for some days, several carriers have been rapidly pushing new updates in the Galaxy devices available in the US., and continuing this is now the company has rolled out a new update to Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The latest update brings the May 2023 security update. The update is now available on several carriers, including T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Xfinity Mobile, and Spectrum Mobile. And could be available on more carriers in the coming days. 

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 were released last year and come with Android 12L. The L version of Android is dedicatedly made for large-screen devices, but later these devices received a normal Android 13 update as the device belongs to the flagship category, so it is receiving a new security update each month.

Users who own Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 devices can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers F936USQS2CWD9 and F721USQS2CWD9, respectively. 

Users who own Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, which are affiliated with the above-mentioned carriers, will be able to install the update. However, it is not available for all devices immediately; if you haven’t received the update on your device, you have to wait for some time.

Whenever a new update is available, you will get a notification, and by tapping on that, you will be redirected to the system software update menu, where you just have to tap on the Download Now option. Alternatively, you can also check the latest update availability by using the below steps:

How to install update

•  Go to the device settings
• Then click on the software updates button
• Now tap on download and install 
• wait until the search is finished,
• If it shows the security update is available, tap on the install button, 
• It will start downloading and get installed automatically.
