May 2023 update improves SOS feature for Galaxy S22 and Galaxy A32 LTE in South Korea

Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy A32 LTE. The update includes the latest security fixes in the form of a May 2023 patch. In the last few days company has updated several devices which are eligible for the update.

Notably, the May 2023 security update for Galaxy S22 and Galaxy A32 LTE is now available in South Korea. Users who own Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra can identify the latest update by these firmware version numbers S901NKSU3CWE6, S906NKSU3CWE6 and S908NKSU3CWE6, respectively.

While Galaxy A32 LTE is getting the update with version number A325NKSU3DWE3, however, the same update is already available in other countries. In case you are from a country where the update doesn’t been reached yet, then don’t have to worry; it will soon be available on your device as well.

For other regions, the May 2023 security patch includes only security-related enhancements; in other words, the update includes over 70 patches that improved the overall performance and stability of the device. 

Meanwhile, in Korea, the same update comes with a separate changelog it specifies the improvements to the system function, such as the Emergency SOS function now always active and the countdown function can be turned on or off. The location information accuracy related to emergency rescue has been improved.

Apart from these, the update also brings stabilization code related to the terminal operation applied, and in the Google security patch application new stabilization code is now activated.

How to update

You should get a notification regarding the new update, and just tapping on it, you can easily install it on your device, but in any case, if you didn’t get notified about the update so you can also check the update manually by following the below steps:

  • Go to the device settings
  • Then click on the software updates button
  • Now tap on download and install 
  • wait until the search is finished,
  • If it shows the security update is available, tap on the install button, 
  • It will start downloading and get installed automatically.
