Samsung expands June 2023 security update to Galaxy A51, A51 5G, and A52

Samsung is now joining three more devices on the June 2023 security list, including Galaxy A51, Galaxy A51 5G, and Galaxy A52. However, the 5G variant of Galaxy A52 has already received the update in the US. 

The latest update brings June 2023 security update; it doesn’t bring any significant features; instead, it comes with improvements that fix some internal functions of the devices; in detail, the official Samsung documentation says that it brings more than 60 fixes that enhance the security of the devices. Moreover, some features also improved, which also brings smoothness to the working of the device.

Currently, the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A51 5G are getting the June 2023 security update in the European region. The update comes with these firmware versions A515FXXU7HWF1 and A516BXXU7FWF2. Respectively. While the Galaxy A52 is getting the update in three other countries, including Russia, India, and Sri Lanka, with the firmware version A525FXXU6DWE3.

For your information, Samsung has listed the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A51 5G in the Biannual security update list. Which means they are eligible for only two updates per year. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A52 is listed under the monthly security update, so it will frequently get at least one update per month.

How to update

If you have already received the update notification, then you can directly update it by tapping on the notification. Alternatively, you can also install it manually by following the below steps:

  1. Go to the system settings
  2. Tap on the software update
  3. Now click on the Download and Install option
  4. Wait until the search finished
  5. If it shows a new update available, then tap on the download now button.
