Samsung Galaxy S20 July 2023 Security Update Expanding in Asia, Europe, and Latin America

Updated: Samsung is expanding the availability of the July security patch for the Galaxy S20 Series to more regions. Latin America is receiving the latest software update for the LTE versions of the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+, which will have firmware versions G98*FXXUHHWF1 and G98*FXXSIHWF7, respectively. Additionally, the 5G versions of the Galaxy S20 series in Latin America are also receiving the new update, which will carry firmware version G98*BXXSIHWF7. Meanwhile, in Asia, the 5G variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are being updated with firmware version G98*BXXSIHWF6.

At the beginning of the month, Samsung started rolling out the July 2023 security patch for its flagships, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 series. And after that, the Galaxy S21 series joined the party. Now firmware has joined hands with his three-year-old brother.

Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra July 2023 Security Update in Europe

Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra have started receiving the Android July 2023 security patch in the European markets, including Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom

The update is available for both LTE and 5G models, where G98*FXXSIHWF6 build for Galaxy S20 LTE (G980F) & Galaxy S20 Plus LTE (G985F). And the 5G models of Galaxy S20 Series (S20, S20+, S20 Ultra) are receiving the update on G98*BXXSIHWF6.

The July 2023 security patch brings several enhancements to the device. Primarily, it focuses on improving performance and stability. Additionally, it addresses various vulnerabilities that have been detected, with a total of over 90 issues fixed. Among these, 52 vulnerabilities are related to Google, while 38 are specific to Samsung.

Samsung will first update these devices with One UI 6.0 & Android 14
