Samsung is working quite hard to push new updates for the Galaxy devices. Currently, the company is handling three different software updates for the Galaxy devices: One UI 6 beta, One UI 5.1.1, and the August 2023 patch. Now the company is expanding the latest patch update for its new foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Notably, the August 2023 patch for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 is now live in some European countries. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 was spotted receiving a new update in Spain with firmware version number F731BXXS1AWH3. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 was spotted getting the latest security patch in Germany with version number F946BXXS1AWH3. Earlier, these devices had received the same update in the US.

The latest update doesn’t bring any new features for the devices; however, being a security patch, it will fix all the internal issues that can be harmful to your security and privacy. The update may also improve the performance and stability of the devices.

According to the official documentation, the latest update brings the August 2023 security patch, which brings more than 85 fixes. Of these, 50 were introduced by Google to resolve the vulnerabilities related to the Android OS, and 35 were added by Samsung to eradicate the system loopholes on its Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are getting the first update as an August patch, and according to Samsung policy, they will continue to get software update support for up to five years. In this update cycle, these devices will get four major updates and will also get the security patch updates.
