Samsung released the Galaxy Watch 6 series on July 26 at the Unpacked event. And within a month, the company has rolled out a new firmware update for the watches. The latest update brings improvements to the security of the watches, and it is expanding to many countries.

Currently, the update is live in some European countries and is also available in two more countries, including India and Mexico. It is also worth noticing that the update is available for the Bluetooth variants of watches.

can identify the update by the firmware version numbers. The Galaxy Watch 6 (40mm) grabs the update with firmware version number R930XXU1AWH4, while the 44mm is getting build number R940XXU1AWH4.

Meanwhile, the Classic model of the Galaxy Watch 6 43mm variant is getting an update with firmware version number R950XXU1AWH4. The 47mm variant gets the same update with the build number R960XXU1AWH4.

According to the official changelog, the update brings the June 2023 security patch, which means your watch will get some fixes that bring improvements to security. It is worth noticing that it is the two-month older patch for the Galaxy Watch 6 series because the company has included these watches in the quarterly update category, so they will not get monthly updates.
