Galaxy S24’s Exynos 2400 Falls Short of Expectations in Benchmark Test

As we are approaching the release of the next flagship S range from Samsung, the different versions of the S24 series are appearing on benchmark listings. The business intends to power up the base and plus variants, the S24 and S24+, with their newly unveiled Exynos 2400 CPU, whereas the top model, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Currently, the Galaxy S24 series is the most anticipated upcoming smartphone, as the models are said to have enhanced AI performance and faster performance. We have now detected the appearance of the Galaxy S24 model with the Exynos 2400 chipset, a 10-core processor, in the Geekbench listing.

It was verified a few days ago in a Geekbench listing for the Galaxy S24+, although we have known for a while that the Exynos 2400 will feature 10 cores—two more than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Three cores clocked at 2.59GHz, four low-power cores clocked at 1.96GHz, two cores clocked at 2.96GHz, and a prime core operating at 3.21GHz will all be present. However, the manufacturer hasn’t finished implementing the required optimizations, so the benchmark results in this specific case aren’t as excellent as the scores for the Galaxy S24+, which was tested with both the Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets.

Additionally, the score shows that the Galaxy S24 has 8GB of RAM, which is the expected storage for the basic model. Also, the smartphone was benchmarked using Android 14, which is also something that is not unusual. The scores may point out not-so good performance; however, it is important to keep in mind that this comparison of requirements was done on paper; in real-world situations, it may differ.

Will the performance of the Exynos 2400 CPU mark a name for Samsung?

AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture serves as the foundation for the GPU in the Exynos 2400 and the Xclipse 940. For accessing the performance improvement of the Exynos 2400, we need the exact amount of performance improvement over the Exynos 2200 and its AMD GPU based on RDNA 2, which is something that hasn’t been disclosed. Exynos 2400 is scheduled to power up only the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models.

It is anticipated that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will power the Galaxy S24 Ultra globally. Snapdragon versions of the basic and Plus models will also be available, although they probably won’t be available in all markets, like the US and China.
