The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is one of the popular smartwatches that was introduced back in 2022. The watch was introduced with the One UI 3.5, and later it received more major updates in the form of Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch updates, and for more security enhancement, it has received a new update in the form of the December 2023 security update.

Initially, the Korean giant rolled out the latest security update for the Bluetooth-only variants of the Galaxy Watch 5 series, and now it is live for the LTE variants. Currently, it has been spotted in South Korea and may expand to more countries in the coming days.

Users who own the Galaxy Watch 5 LTE variants can easily identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers. The Galaxy Watch 5 44mm and 40mm models are receiving the update with the version numbers R915NKOU1BWL1 and R905NKOU1BWL1, respectively. While the Pro model is receiving the same update with a different firmware version number (R925NKOU1BWL1),.

The latest update for these smartwatches doesn’t have any relation to the Samsung One UI, so it will not bring any new features for your device but will provide some new security-related enhancements that may also improve the overall performance of your smartwatches.

If you are using the Galaxy Watch 5 series in South Korea, then now you can easily update to the latest version. To check the latest update on your smartwatch, you have to simply visit the Galaxy Wearable and go to the software update section. If the update is available, it will start downloading.
