Samsung denies there are no plans to develop glass substrates technology on its own

Samsung Electronics upholds its top position in the industry, constantly being engaged in direct competition with other rivals in the semiconductor business. Previous reports were just a rumor, as Samsung is not planning to enter into the semiconductor glass substrate market any time soon.
Considering the earlier reports, Samsung strongly opposes the idea of developing its own semiconductor glass substrates. Instead, it is currently pursuing multiple material, component, and equipment companies to initiate and secure its own production chain.
Substantially, a Korea-based news outlet revealed that having spoken to Samsung’s representative regarding the glass substrate supply concept, the company’s official completely denied it by clarifying the fact that it’s not currently considering developing its own semiconductor glass substrates technology. This clearly confirms that Samsung is not considering producing its own chain of semiconductor glass substrates, at least for the time being.
Glass substrates are beneficial because they have a smooth and very thin surface, which lets us create detailed circuits and handle heat well. These features are important for producing high-quality and high-density semiconductors. These are perfectly suitable for AI-based chipsets, though.
However, the glass substrates are the technology that is yet to be commercialized, and alternatively, currently only Intel, Absolix, and other global chipmakers, alongside component and material companies, are already working to get to a higher position in this field.
