Samsung Secure Folder has an issue that lets anyone have a sneak peek into hidden photos

Samsung’s Secure Folder is indeed a functionality that permits users to safely keep their sensitive files, images, videos and apps hidden from others. However, an issue has been discovered within the Secure Folder that is unnecessarily breaking the original capability of the feature.

As reported by our colleague at Android Authority, Samsung’s highly reliable Secure Folder feature has an issue that is now letting anyone have a sneak peek into someone’s apps and photos that’s hidden within the feature.

Substantially, the reports (via Reddit) says that if the user is trying to access photos or videos present in the Secure Folder via the work profile, then Android doesn’t block them and thus they are easily accessible to others, while alternatively, when accessing the Secure Folder items using personal profile it remains inaccessible even if the Folder feature is unlocked.

However, after replicating the similar process in One UI 7, it was noticed that only the photos and videos stored in the Secure Folder are at risk of being exposed outside the Secure Folder, while the Android system file picker efficiently blocks the file access even if the file picker is accessible via the work profile.

Moreover, there’s a way to ensure that the photos and videos don’t get accessed outside of the Secure Folder is to encrypt the Folder. This can be done by tapping the menu that is located inside the folder and then choose the Encrypt option. Hopefully, Samsung could soon acknowledge the issue and bring some relevant fix.
