Samsung Wallet introduces ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ trial in the US for selected users

Samsung Wallet started enrolling users for a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service as a trial on an invite-only basis.

Earlier this year, the Korean tech giant announced a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service for Samsung Wallet to simplify in-store purchases, and now it has started enrolling users as a trial on an invite-only basis.

This trial will offer early access to the selected users for this convenient payment option as Samsung tests out the system. It is expected that the company could expand the rollout widely in the coming months based on the outcome of the trial period.

A report from SammyGuru revealed that Samsung has sent an email inviting people to participate in an early access program for Samsung Wallet’s Installment Payment called “Buy Now, Pay Later” services.

Samsung has introduced this feature in partnership with Splitit, a platform used by merchants in over 30 countries and shoppers in more than a hundred different regions. This new service will permit Samsung Wallet users to split in-store purchases into manageable payments over time using their existing credit card without even requiring any credit check. Noticeably, it is compatible with most retailers that accept payments via Samsung’s Wallet app.

The company revealed that it is making this invite-only access to Samsung Wallet’s “Buy Now, Pay Later” service available for selected residents of different markets, which are mentioned below.

  • Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, and Wyoming.

Noticeably, interested users who are eligible in these states should see a banner titled “Early Access for Installment Payments” in the Wallet app.
