Samsung may change its sales strategy amidst tariff crisis

Samsung is facing a 25% US Tariff on Galaxy smartphones in the United States, and it has now shared its official statement regarding this matter.
In the past few days, several leaks and reports have been blowing in the market regarding the US tariffs on Galaxy devices, despite any official statement from Samsung: for instance, the company will increase the Galaxy S25 production to avoid US Tariffs, and pay 25% tariff on Galaxy phones sold in the US market.
Finally, the Korean tech giant has shared its views on the US tariff matter: “We need to produce and sell first, so we are examining our supply chain to see if there will be any problems. Once the tariff issue is decided in the mid to long term, we will need to consider ways to reorganize our supply chain accordingly.”
In case the US tariff hits, then it’s quite possible the company will reorganize its supply chain so that it can reduce the impact. Commenting on the matter, Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Deok-Hyeon Jang revealed the company has yet to make a decision and will look into it more closely.
On the other side, maybe to stand strong, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is also looking forward to extending expansion opportunities, as it plans to establish its factory in Calamba, Philippines, to make more MLCCs for vehicles. Currently, Samsung is in talks with the Philippine government, though it has not made a final decision. It will be interesting to see how Samsung will deal with this situation.
