Samsung has officially confirmed that Samsung Pay would no longer be available for Galaxy watches running on Tizen OS.This means users who own the older watches will no longer be eligible to install the Samsung Pay application.
According to the official notification, Shared on X(Via), the stoppage of Samsung Pay is effective from 31 May 2025. However, it is worth noticing that if you have already installed the application on your device then you can continue to use it on your watches.
In simple words, from today, Samsung Pay is removed from Galaxy watches‘ Galaxy store. This also directs that there will be no more updates available for the application in future.
So if you want to continue to use the older version with the same phone and also do not reset the watch, because you will not able to reinstall it.
These Galaxy watches will not get Samsung Pay support from today
Samsung has cleared that these Tizen OS Galaxy watch will no longer be support Samsung Pay:
- Samsung Gear S2
- Samsung Gear S3
- Samsung Gear Sport
- Samsung Galaxy Watch
- Samsung watch Active
- Samsung Watch Active2
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 3
If you are also using any of the Galaxy watches then it is the right time to switch for the newer generation, as these watches will lose support for more applications and services gradually with time.
