One UI 8 Beta Brings Built-In Math Solver to Galaxy Devices

Samsung has already released the Android 16-based One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series, which silently adds a smart math-solving feature to Samsung Notes.

Last week, the Korean tech giant opened the One UI 8 beta program in selected regions, including the US, UK, Germany, and Korea, for the Galaxy S25 users. Now, the company is aggressively working on extending the beta to older Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Tab S10Galaxy Tab S9, and Galaxy S22 series, as they are spotted running on Android 16 (One UI 8) build online.

With the latest One UI 8 beta update, Samsung has offered several notable improvements and tweaks and revamped a few apps and features, including a convenient smart math-solving feature for Samsung Notes.

Noticeably, Samsung hasn’t notified the beta users regarding this new smart math-solving addition and hasn’t even mentioned it in the official changelog. Smartly, a One UI 8 beta tester has discovered that the Samsung Notes interface has received notable key upgrades, such as a customizable toolbar, a new search filter, and a Math Solver feature.

Users can easily use the customizable toolbar by just pressing and holding on the toolbar to open the customization menu, which lets them choose the most used tools and rearrange the display position as desired.

Samsung upgraded the default note style settings menu by adding a landscape interface to notes and tweaking the way scroll direction and note color are selected to be more intuitive. One of the interesting features the update brings is the Math Solver feature, which initially appeared on the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series. It is based on AI, which helps to recognize and solve handwritten math problems.
