Samsung May 2025 security patch for Galaxy S21 series expands across the US

While Samsung has already pushed the May 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S21 series in the US on the Verizon network, now the carrier-unlocked 2021-based S-series models are getting the update across the country.
Previously, the update was delivered to the carrier-locked models; meanwhile, this time, the company is expanding the update to more Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra units receiving the May 2025 security update in the US.
The update is identified with the build numbers G991U1UESFHYE1, G996U1UESFHYE1, and G998U1UESFHYE1, respectively, and its wider availability is expected shortly.
Particularly, usually, Samsung’s security patches, however, don’t bring any major features and changes; rather, the latest update that eventually integrates the May 2025 security patch focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality. It brings a host of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that were addressed in the previous version, while also protecting the device against external threats and attacks in order to provide a more secure user experience.
Beyond this, the update further adds stability and reliability to the entire system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations to offer a smooth, stable, and optimized functionality.
Well, the Samsung Galaxy S21 owners in the US can now download the latest version on their devices when available via the Settings >> Software update >> Download and install.
