Galaxy S25 Edge surpassed Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of battery

Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge a few weeks ago as the fourth member of the Galaxy S25 series, and astonishingly, it surpassed the Ultra variant of the lineup in terms of battery performance.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is the slimmest high-end smartphone in the Galaxy family ever and has a 3900mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support. Whereas the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a larger 5000mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging support.

Despite the Galaxy S25 Ultra having a larger battery, the Galaxy S25 Edge’s battery surpassed it in terms of energy density. It’s being speculated by a teardown video of the Galaxy S25 Edge shared by a YouTube channel, WekiHome, revealing its battery and its energy density.
According to the teardown video, the Galaxy S25 Edge has an energy density of 758Wh/L, which is better than that of the 727Wh/L density of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery. These metrics showcased that Samsung made efforts to upgrade the battery capacity of its ultra-slim phone compared to its regular flagship device.
On the rivalry side, a reliable tipster, Ice Universe, praised the OPPO Find N5 for its larger battery, which uses a Silicon Carbon anode battery, whose density is 810Wh/L. In case the Korean tech giant used a similar battery in the Galaxy S25 Edge, the phone’s battery capacity would be just slightly higher at 4,200mAh, and that isn’t a major difference.
