Galaxy A56 new model number hints at availability in US market soon

Samsung appears ready to expand the availability of its recently launched mid-range Galaxy A56 smartphone in the US market, according to the report.

Earlier this year, in March, Samsung introduced three mid-range devices under the Galaxy A-series, including the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A26. Initially, the company debuted these smartphones in selected markets: India and the UK; however, a few weeks later, it expanded the availability worldwide, except for the USA.

Now, finally, it seems that the company is close to launching the Galaxy A56 in the US market. According to a new report from one of our reliable colleagues, SamMobile, the Korean tech giant has started working on firmware for the US model of the Galaxy A56, identified by the model number SM-A566U1.

The last two letters of the model number ‘U1’ stand for the USA, which means that the Galaxy A56 is on track for a US release soon. Previously, the company confirmed that the device would retail in the US for nearly $499 and be available “later this year.”

The device will feature a  6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with up to 1200 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, powered by in-house Exynos 1580 chipset, and paired with up to 256GB of internal storage & 12GB of RAM. However, Samsung has yet to release the exact launch date of the device, but it’s expected that it could happen in the coming weeks.
